Credit to all the authors listed for the sprites. We do 8 bit, 16, bit and 32 bit sprites (mostly 8 bit) and Sonic sprites. WE TAKE REQUESTS. no trolling, flaming, cussing (some allowed) and ABSOLUTELY NO STEALING SPRITES AND DON'T CLAIM ANY AS YOUR OWN, unless you actually made them and your part of this showcase. *One new rule: I would like to address the fact that THIS IS NO LONGER A SHOWCASE WHERE WE POST RESOURCE SPRITES OR SPRITES WE DIDN'T MAKE! I'm gonna remove the sheets that aren't ours soon. any body else that posts anything that isn't theirs will be punished, if caught, with the following: 1st offense: a warning. 2nd offense: comment privilege taken away. 3rd offense: uploading privilege taken away Anything past the third offense will result in removal from this comic.

this is just a few pixels added. Are you even?

Reply Sprite_Reviewer, November 23rd, 2014, 9:20 pm

Remember when there was actual effort in this showcase?

Reply Nick Cypher The Flames, November 23rd, 2014, 10:19 pm

I'm not even PART of this showcase and I can safely say... I'm embarrassed... This needs much more efforts points than has been put forth.
If it's supposed to be roboticized, switch out for metal shading, edit the shoes to be roboticized, for god's sake it ain't that difficult to understand in concept of what it's supposed to be, is it? ... Now if this was a first attempt at spriting a robot, or something done long ago that you plan on working on making better, then I would understand...

@Nick Cypher The Flames: It's a fucking recolor, I think your criticism is lost on this guy just not even trying.

Reply Master_72, November 24th, 2014, 8:27 am

@Tomcat_X: ohshit you're not dead.

Reply Nick Cypher The Flames, November 24th, 2014, 1:04 pm

@Tomcat_X: Fair enough, it's a recolor. But weren't we all when starting spriting? Even our first "edits" were recolors with crappy clothes. The difference between stalling out at newbie stage of spriting and getting better over time is encouragement, rough criticism, and an incentive to get better.

Reply Sapar, November 24th, 2014, 3:54 pm

Yeah, just give the guy some rest. He tried, didn't he?

Reply Dhalo, November 25th, 2014, 12:19 pm

@Everyone
Okay, I'll admit, this was VERY badly done up, but by first 'submission' I meant 'This is one of my first ever sonic sprites from way back then'. I promise y'all I'll get some actual SPRITEWORK up as soon as I can!

*Edit: Replaced with one of my 'better' sheets. Probably fails terribly in some area or other, feel free to criticize to your hearts content.

Reply Sprite_Reviewer, November 25th, 2014, 8:31 pm

@Sapar: No he didnt.

@Dhalo: Also no you can't expand Tails's legs and call it a teenager.

first of all, check out the green circle. you didn't bother editing the body or the arms at all. they are still in the default position from sonic advance.

as you can see from the red circle the right shoe looks nothing like the left and it has some weird black stuff on it.

while we are on the subject of black stuff, look at the purple circle for a sec. look harder. Closer...Cloooossserrrr...Yep they are entirely different shades. the darker shade one is the one from the weird looking shoe thing.
Stick to the shading from the original if you are just to expand the legs anyway.

Listen man, this is your first sprite, right? That's great, awesome. Gold star. But this is a place for more-or-less experienced spriters to showcase work that they've really worked hard on (or else you're Moonlight madness). If you want my advice, move to another sprite showcase, perhaps a more forgiving one. Ill be there to criticize you for sure, but the bar's way too high for you here, pal. We're talking custom-made mm7 style sheets, Redesigns and custom characters. All of this isn't to say you're bad. It's to say you don't belong here yet.

If I may recommend, a great place to post any megaman work would be the Megaman sprite Expo: http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=91833

And for Sonic Sprites, I can't give you anything solid but you could try Showcasimus Maximus and it's affiliates: http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=133027

As for now? I suppose it'd be rude to leave you off with nothing at all. This sprite is very minor in effort. Try at least shading the legs, using the old sprite as reference to where to use darker shades, and try messing with other details such as his hair and his arms. Heck, you could even edit the body (don't just make it taller, work with the colours) to really give him a sense of age. Right now this is more like "tall tails" rather than "teenage tails". Got it? Good. Now Get out.
