There's a new Sonic-styled Street Fighter in town! I finally managed to complete my new sprites. It took me a little over a week, but I worked hard at them, and I am proud of it. This was my second attempt at a Sonic styled Street Fighter, and it turned out better than ever.

Time to explain about the sprites:
I've made three sets for whoever would like to use them. 1) No scars, eye patches, and only one tail (by mistake), so that if someone decides to make their own Muay Thai character, then there's a reference there for them. 2 & 3) To save you guys the energy, I put together the sprites' scars, etc. so that it wouldn't take up too much time. You're welcome! :)

At first I thought I was going to have trouble with the wraps, but I observed Akuma's carefully so that I could get an idea of how to make my own. To compare both of ours, I saw that his wraps looked old and torn, whereas mine looked as if they were brand spanking new. The wraps and limbs are custom made, but I wanted to give Akuma credit for both his SWAT Kat's height reference, and his wrap reference.

My special attacks were reduced to 50% in size, but the Tiger Knee is custom as well (they are part of the Tiger Genocide attack). I didn't bother putting in the special blue effects that usually appear behind (Like in the Street Fighter Alpha games). Didn't seem like it was worth my time.

I deleted my old sheet from my hard drive and the showcase, since I'm not going to be using them anymore, though I won't replace the one that's in the Robot Tournament seat. Don't want to really bother with that right now.

Now that I finally have this sheet done, I am definitely going to try and enter the World Spriters Tournament. I just hope the judges will approve.

And finally, I would like to thank the co-authors at the Mega Man & Sonic Sprite Showcase for your support. This I would have to say is one of my greatest accomplishments in spriting so far, and you all have my thanks.

@baryltdf: Thanks. You are right, the size does not match my theme, but I'm aiming to go a little different.

It is kind of funny though, like those jokes where there's a big shadow coming out from a tunnel, and as it gets closer, you start to feel fear until finally it shows itself, revealing to be small. Then you feel like "What the hell? I thought you'd be much bigger than I expected." And the other guy is like "Yeah, I get that a lot." Ha ha!

so cool

Overall I think it looks great. One suggestion I would have is that for the running poses make the arms a little bit longer. They seem a little short there.

Those sprites look great, beside in some poses the foot seem a little small, anyway, you are going to try WST this year so maybe we can fight against each other since both characters are based on SF,and about the fact he's small you could make this one characteristic of the character like he attack everyone who say that.

Reply Sagat the Tiger, January 14th, 2012, 6:40 pm

@Game-over: That does sound like a good characteristic, but that's IF I can get into the WST. Last couple of tries were a no go.

@Pharaoh Man: Thanks!

Oh, dude. If I knew who you were IRL, I would find you and hug you and bro fist you and give you money. EDIT: You should sprite his victory poses, brah.

That's a brilliant idea bro! *Brofist!*

Also, sagat, did you ever do any more work on that protoman sheet from a bit ago?

Reply Sagat the Tiger, January 19th, 2012, 4:25 am

@Pizzaman_Colors: I took a break from it a while ago so I could work on this sheet. Don't worry, I'll get back on it ASAP.
